Black holes are an ongoing area for research and discovery. However, many mysteries of the universe can be solved with Big Data analytics. Artificial intelligence (AI) is the killer application of Big Data analytics. Logically based on machine learning and Big Data analytics, the more data available, the more intelligent it will get, resulting in more widespread applications.

In future, you may own a smart robot or even a smart dog. Your mobile phone could also be embedded with a smart chip, becoming super intelligent. It may even be able to converse with you to understand your feelings and recommend dishes and movies you’d like. It could also become your butler, taking care of miscellaneous chores. When you go to a new city, it can even be your tour guide, helping you communicate with the locals in their mother tongue. Most importantly, it could help you read minds.

Don’t underestimate AI; it’s the product of years of work.

Dr. Hang Li, director of the Huawei Noah’s Ark Lab, introduced one of the laboratory’s visions in the field of AI — the Smart Information Assistant. The laboratory has applied many of Huawei products in developing some of the world’s leading technologies. Dr. Li hopes that more innovative technologies can be created in the future, bringing a better experience to the user.

Deep learning is a focus of the Noah’s Ark Lab. We have already developed many industry-leading technologies like the multi-modal deep matching model which has the industry’s highest accuracy rate in image retrieval tasks. The neural response machine is also the industry’s first dialogue system based on deep learning. It can automatically produce a natural language and converse smoothly with humans. The extended sequence produced is useful to the sequence learning model and greatly improves the accuracy of machine translation.

Huawei’s application market currently has 230 million registered users and 40 million active users. Based on Noah’s Ark Lab’s large-scale online learning and sequence learning technologies, users can receive the most accurate app recommendations and search for the most relevant apps. Every Huawei mobile phone has an intelligent help function through which users can make mobile use related inquiries using natural language input. They no longer have to refer to instruction manuals, ask friends, or go online to search for answers. This feature differentiates Huawei mobiles from the rest and uses Noah’s Ark Lab’s automated answering technology. Communication between users and their mobile devices is done most naturally by voice. Noah’s Ark Lab has used deep learning technology to develop voice recognition and dialogue systems. Noah’s Ark Lab is constantly trying to perfect these technologies, and hopes for them to join the Huawei product lineup and into the hands of users as soon as possible.

In the future, through Big Data analytics and a deeper understanding of text, I’m sure you’ll be able to hear my innermost thoughts!
